Day 2 – Bible
“The Creation Account”Purpose: To give the students the background of the Biblical creation account, and to understand that the solar system is part of the original “good” creation.
Introduction: Begin the lesson by projecting the presentation found at www.kids4truth.com/eng_creation.html. This could be done using a projector, an individual computer, or having the students look up the website. It introduces the students to the basic Biblical story.
Lesson:
1) Read the Biblical creation account from Genesis 1 with the class.
2) Have the students get together with a partner and outline the sequence of creation events. Go over this together as a class, so all students have the same information. Draw a chart like the following, in order to highlight the connections between days 1-3 and 4-6. Make sure the students know on which day the planets and solar system were created.
