Hi,
my name is Kiley and I am a
senior from Sioux Center, Iowa.
I plan on graduating this year
with an Elementary Education
degree with a middle school
endorsement. I look forward to
having my own classroom of
students to watch them grow and
develop to God's glory.
Philippians 2:4 says, "not
looking to your own interests
but each of you to the interests
of other." My hope and prayer is
to bring the whole chapter of
Philippians 2 into my classroom
to live by as a whole.
My
name is Erin Cordell, and I am currently an
Elementary Education Major, with plans to get an
endorsement in Middle School Mathematics and
Social Studies, at Dordt College. I was born in
St. Paul, MN, and since then have lived in
Nairobi, Kenya, and Lincoln, NE. I hope that one
day I'll be able to go back to Kenya, maybe even
teach at my former school Rosslyn Academy, but
for now I'm content to stay here in the Midwest.
I love reading, singing, playing piano, and
writing. I also love seeing kids learn, I live
for that moment when an idea finally sinks in,
and you can see the light bulb above their head
go off.
My
name is Nicole Scholten. I am a
Junior at Dordt College majoring
in elementary education with
math and science middle school
endorsements and a coaching
endorsement in basketball and
volleyball. I absolutely love
working with youth! Experiences
tutoring elementary students,
working at summer camp this
summer with all ages, and head
coaching a middle school girl's
basketball team have definitely
reaffirmed my passion for
instructing children, "in the
way they should go." God has
blessed me in so many ways that
I could never thank him enough
for in this lifetime. I was born
and raised into a loving family
in Inwood, IA. I have two
amazing parents and four great
younger siblings, Kyle, Kristin,
Kayla, and Katie. (No, I have no
idea why my name is the only one
that doesn't start with a K.) I
could not have asked for a
better place to grow up in or a
better place than Dordt College
to learn and grow in my faith
while also furthering my
education.
I am Jake Van
Otterloo. I am currently a junior at Dordt
College. My major is Elementary Education with a
Middle School emphasis. I am from Prinsburg
Minnesota. In my spare time I like to hunt,
watch baseball, and play sports. Baseball is one
of my passions. Another one of my passions in
life is education. I believe that education is
very important for developing children into
active and contributing members in God’s
kingdom.
My
name is Emily Groen, and I am currently a
student at Dordt College pursuing my degree in
Elementary Education. I am expecting to graduate
in May of 2012 with an endorsement in Middle
School Education. Within the Middle School
endorsement, I will have specialization in the
fields of English, Science, and Social Studies.
I have a passion for guiding students through
their learning process and providing them with a
foundation to become lifelong learners. My
interests include creative writing and
literature studies. I also enjoy spending time
with family and friends, playing games, and
traveling.
